Cd. Juarez

Ciudad Juárez, or simply Juárez, is a city in the Mexican state of Chihuahua formerly known as El Paso del Norte.

Juárez has an estimated population of 1,512,354 as of 2005. It stands on the Rio Grande (Río Bravo del Norte), across the border from El Paso, Texas. The two cities form a metropolitan area of 2,280,782 making it the second largest international border community in which the Developed and newly industrialized worlds meet in such a close proximity.

After Tijuana, it is the most important border city, in the world, with more than 60,000[citation needed] crosses every day, across the border CJZ-ELP. It is the major port of entry and transportation center of north central Mexico, its surrounding municipality is the fourth largest in Mexico (Nezahualcoyotl, Guadalajara, Puebla) and the fifth for importance[citation needed], (only after Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puebla).

It is a growing industrial center with more than 300 maquiladoras (assembly plants) and now is the main logistic center in Mexico.

    Do you do anything with the YWAM base in Juarez? I just connected w/friend from there… he’s teaching at the base next week and he and his family live in El Paso.
