How can I be involved?

Be a good steward; Give your time, talent and treasure.

Sponsor a child’s education.

Support one of our missionaries.

Serve on a short term mission trip! Lead a team, join a team or come on your own. Internships are useful for people considering long term missions.

Spread the word. Tell your family, friends and church about what Onnemi is doing in Juarez, MX.

Pray! Sign up on our mailing list and know how to pray specifically for the ministry and the needs of the missionaries.

What are the needs of Onnemi?

Onnemi International Ministries is still in its conception stages. We are here to plant churches and build community centers, but in order to start we need relationships with people in the community.

The most important aspect of your visit is that you came!!

Simply your visit draws people out of the community and into a setting that helps us share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them!

Where will I stay?

Right now the most available and cost effective housing arrangement for your group is to stay in the homes of our missionaries.

What will it cost?

The average cost per trip can be factored planning to need $35 dollars a day per person. This money will go toward lodging, transportation, food, & ministry expense.

Other costs may vary depending on the size of your group and the type of ministry you will be accomplishing.

Will I need a passport?

Short answer…YES. There have been extensions to the dates when all travelers will be required to have passports, but for ease of travel and safety we strongly encourage everyone to have a passport.

Now on at the website www.travel.state.gov you can find information about passport needs and travel requirements.

What can you tell me about the general safety of my team?

There is and will always be a tension between safety and risk when choosing to serve the Lord. This is especially true when serving on a short term mission trip. This is even more important to understand when thinking of coming to Juarez.

The greatest danger to you on a mission trip is yourself. You can choose to be careful and aware as we minister in Juarez, or you can choose the path of foolishness. By following a few basic ground rules, your team can travel safely and without major incident.

How should I pack?

The phrase to remember and think about when packing is:

“If I can’t bear to lose it, I shouldn’t bring it.”

A small suitcase or duffel bag would suffice for one week. Plan on enough clothing to last three days, you can always do laundry when you need to. Remember your basic toiletries and daily needs.

Be sure to include work clothes and perhaps one Sunday worship shirt!

I don’t speak Spanish, can I still come?

Here at Onnemi we have four potential translators available depending on the needs of your group. Do not let language barrier be a deterrent to your ministry here in Juarez!
