Hello family and friends !!!
We hope this letter finds you all well!! We have been fighting the flu around here ; Kenny has been sick for almost three weeks now, both girls went through quite a stint as well, we even had an exciting week with Esmeralda sick and the rest of us suffering from dad ’s cooking, but despite malnutrition we made it out ok!! February has been a busy month with lots of work and many changes to life.
Concrete, concrete and … more concrete:
Kenny had the opportunity to help our ministry partners, Mark and Perla Livengood, pour a driveway for their house. By U.S.A. standards, this doesn ’t sound like much. In the states we would set forms and then bring in the concrete truck, down here it ’s a very different story. Mark and Kenny worked with two other men, Pedro and Kikis, and two teenage men, Scott and Alberto . The guys took turns mixing 50 bags of cement with sand, gravel and water using shovels and lots of sore muscles . Sorry we don ’t have pictures of the actual process; the photographer was busy with a shovel.
The quickest way to knock down a building is a stick of dynamite!!
At times, I ’m sure Mark wished for one! Part of getting establishing our team here in Juarez is getting our living conditions in order. Several years ago, the Livengoods were blessed with an opportunity to buy an old house and are now trying to tear it down and build a new house that actually holds out water.

The latest and most exciting headline!!!
